Supporting #iRecognise 2026

On Friday 18th September 2026, the cleaning industry will come together once again to celebrate i-Recognise Day – a day dedicated to recognising and thanking cleaning operatives around the world.

Every day, cleaning operatives work behind the scenes to keep the places where we live, work, learn and receive care cleaner, healthier and safer.

From hospitals and care homes to schools, hotels, offices, retail spaces and public facilities, their work is essential. Yet all too often, the people carrying it out don't receive the recognition they deserve.

That’s what i-Recognise Day is about.

i-Recognise Day was created to put cleaning operatives firmly in the spotlight and celebrate the skill, dedication and hard work that goes into keeping our environments clean.

Cleaning is about far more than how a space looks. It plays a fundamental role in hygiene, health, safety and wellbeing – and behind every clean environment are people making it happen.

Over the years, i-Recognise has brought together organisations from across the cleaning and facilities management industry, all with one simple aim: to make sure cleaning operatives know their work is seen, valued and appreciated.

On Friday 18th September, we're encouraging businesses, teams and individuals to get involved.

It doesn't need to be complicated. A simple thank you can make a real difference.

• Take the time to personally thank the cleaning operatives in your workplace or facilities.
• Recognise an individual or team who goes above and beyond.
• Share their stories and achievements with your colleagues.
• Post a message of appreciation on social media and help give cleaning operatives the recognition they deserve.
• Download and display the official i-Recognise materials in your workplace.

This i-Recognise Day, take a moment to notice the people who are so often working behind the scenes.

Cleaning Operatives globally are who we depend on to create cleaner, healthier spaces.

We devote i-Recognise Day to these heroes who help keep everyone safe, delivering the essential cleaning service to keep our environments clean. Over the last few years that i-Recognise has been celebrated, more and more organisations have joined in supporting i-Recognise, organisations like ISS, Serco, Tersano, i-team, Killis and many more. 

i-Recognise Day is also proud to support the Made Blue Foundation.

On Friday, 19th September 2025, we encourage all businesses to get involved with i-Recognise Day to thank your cleaning operatives to show your appreciation. You can actively promote this day of recognition by using #iRecognise2025 on social media. You can also download posters for free from the i-Recognise website at www.i-recognise.com.
